Odessa, 10 JANUARY 2017, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — In January-December, total freight turnover of the stevedoring companies operating on the territory of Belgorod-Dnestrovsky sea port amounted to 466.53 thousand tons, a decrease of 12.9% compared to the figure for the 12 months of last year, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, January 10, in the press-service of the SE «Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority».

In a press-service reported that according to operational data, the total cargo turnover at the port for January-December amounted to 466.53 thousand tons, which is 87.1% of the figure for 2015.

The main cargoes for this period were timber — 418.27 thousand tons.

Processed 14.76 thousand tons of ferrous metals and 0.11 million tons of scrap, 25.9 thousand tons of other unitized cargoes, at 5.98 thousand tons of grain cargoes and 1.51 thousand tons of bulk construction materials.

REFERENCE: Belgorod-Dniestrovsky port was founded in 1971. Located in the South-Western part of Odessa region, 20 km from the Black sea on the right shore of the Dniester estuary, having a length of 42 km and width of 4.5 to 12 km and connected by a strait with the Black sea. The ships' approach to the port is along the sea channel with a length of 2.22 km and Liman channel length of 14.5 km. Depth of the approach channel is 4.5 m.
