Odessa, 17 JANUARY 2017, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — The new head of USPA Raivis Veckagans intends to meet with the leadership of the companies-investors of the port of Odessa to «reset relations», and to identify further steps for the implementation of the started investment projects, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, January 17, in the press-service of the SE «Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority».

According to the press service, the acting Chairman of the State Enterprise «USPA» R. Veckagans held a workshop meeting in the Odessa sea port, he criticized the management of the port. He noted that for many years has not completed construction of the port «protracted» terminal at the Quarantine mole, berth No. 1-z; more than a year not resolved the issue of reconstruction of the Maritime station of the port with the deployment of the project «Open customs space».

«The investor who comes in a Ukrainian port, not interested in the internal bureaucratic procedures, coordination with public authorities, litigation and so on. If you assume the obligation for construction of the facility — it needs to be put in clear terms prescribed in the contract. We must create a favorable environment for business, and not the artificial barriers that interfere with attraction of investments», — said the head of USPA, addressing the audience at the meeting of the heads of the port.

In the near future, R. Veckagans intends to meet with the leadership of the companies-investors to restart the relationship and to identify further steps for the implementation of these investment projects.

«As soon as possible we will conduct an audit of the missing, but required documentation, including the adjustment of existing projects, and make the optimal steps for the speedy implementation of these investment plans», — he said.

The press service also recalled that the construction of a container terminal at the Quarantine mole suspended due to subsidence of the sea wall in 2014. To date, between the contractor and the port administration continues the litigation. Construction of berth ¹1-z, as part of a new grain terminal in Androsovsky mole was to be completed in 2014, but is still ongoing. Reconstruction of the marine station of the port of Odessa for the deployment of «Open customs space» has stalled because of lack of coordination with the designers.

In the course of the meeting it was emphasized that the port of Odessa is a leader among other ports of the country in the number of implemented investment projects.
