Odessa, 20 JANUARY 2017, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — In 2016, Poland became the most visited country EU by Ukrainians — officially it was visited by 1 million 300 thousand citizens of Ukraine, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

Such data has resulted yesterday, January 19, at a briefing at the Visa application centre Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Odessa Dariusz Szewczyk.

According to the Consul General, «the number of visits of Ukrainians in Poland last year broke all records» and amounted to 1 million 300 thousand, which is 30% higher than the number of visits in 2015.

«Among the countries-members of EU, Poland became for Ukrainians the most visited. We have not yet conducted a detailed analysis for some visas — Schengen or national — entered our territory more Ukrainian citizens, but we know that a lot of young Ukrainians are increasingly traveling to study and work in our country», — said Dariusz Szewczyk.

The diplomat added that Poland was one of the first EU member states supported the idea of introducing a visa-free regime for Ukraine.

«We have a big list of categories of Ukrainians, for whom the visa is free of charge», — he added.
