Odessa, 23 JANUARY 2017, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — People's Deputy of Ukraine Maksym Polyakov («NF») has officially addressed to the Minister of infrastructure of Ukraine Vladimir Omelyan with Deputy inquiry in which he asked to justify appointments in SE «Administration of seaports of Ukraine», the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

In the deputy's ' inquiry, the text of which is available at the Agency, asked questions regarding the appointment of a Latvian citizen Raivis Veckagans the head of USPA, in particular, the reason for this purpose, the presence of R. Veckagans Ukrainian citizenship and work experience in the sea economic complex of Ukraine, and also about his residence and work on the territory of the aggressor country.

As note the Ukrainian mass media, commenting on this request, «from the text of the document it is obvious that the candidate of Raivis Veckagans appointed by Vladimir Omelyan, as acting Chairman of SE «USPA» is not only the biggest doubts among members of the legislature, but also serious concerns.

From reliable sources it became known that the citizen of Latvia Raivis Veckagans at home has repeatedly been accused of various frauds, and participation in corruption schemes related to JSC «Latvian shipping company». In addition, Mr. Veckagans in the recent past, have worked successfully in companies-residents of the country-aggressor (was the commercial Director of Fenix LLC terminal at the port Bronka in Saint-Petersburg)».

According to paragraph 5 of article 15 of the law of Ukraine «On status of people's Deputy of Ukraine», within 15 days, the Minister of infrastructure is required to answer all these questions.

As reported IA «Context-Prichernomorie», January 12, the Minister of infrastructure of Ukraine Vladimir Omelyan presented in Odessa's to the labor collective of SE «USPA» the new acting Chairman of administration of seaports — Raivis Veckagans. During the presentation, V. Omelyan noted that the new head has complete freedom of action for the reform of USPA and the fight against corruption, adding that the change of leadership ASPU is «the first step in reforming the Maritime industry».
