The opening ceremony of the XV International Transport Week and International Transport Exhibition “Inter-TRANSPORT” took place in the Exhibition Complex of Odessa Commercial Sea Port.

Transport Week is important not only for the region but for the whole country’s business event, which includes a number of activities on transport issues. It is a traditional meeting of transport intellectuals of the CIS and foreign countries — partners, friends, transport branch leaders and cargo owners with the transport services.

The Event is included into the plans of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Permanent International Secretariat (BSEC PERMIS). The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Odessa Region State Administration are coordinating the Forum.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport and Communications of Greece, Ministry of Transport and Communications of Lithuania, Chairman of the Regional Council Anatoly Urbanski, and other representatives of the regional and city authorities.

International transport exhibition “Inter-TRANSPORT” is held under the slogan “Dialogue. Confidence. Action”. More than 100 companies from 14 countries are participating in the event. The exhibition demonstrates the newest discoveries and achievements in the field of transport, port management, logistics, hydraulic engineering and materials handling equipment. Leading ports of the Black Sea region, the railway, forwarding organizations, manufacturers of equipment and technology for ports and storage facilities, the industry leader in hydraulic engineering, educational institutions present their activities during the exhibition.

The participants discussed various aspects of cooperation between the countries of the Black Sea region, the issue of formation of prospective transport network, modern trends of port development, direction of technology and etс.

In the framework of the International Transport Week “Inter-TRANSPORT” there will be

• International Freight Forwarders’ Day;

• meeting of the International Black and Asov Sea Ports Association (BASPA) Council;

• meeting of the Association of Ukrainian Ports “UKRPORT” Committee;

• round table discussions;

• workshops.

The exhibition “Inter-TRANSPORT 2016” is held on June 1-3.
