16:10 / 30.08.2016

Odessa, 30 AUGUST 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — In September 2016 are scheduled 24 flights ferries from Chernomorsk to the prots of Poti and Batumi (both — Georgia), the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

Agency was informed about it today, 30 August, in the press service of the SE «USPA» with reference to the press release of the Association of shipowners of Ukraine.

As stated in the press release, the commercial Director of the shipping company «Ukrferry» Vladimir Cherniavsky said that in September 2016 are scheduled 24 flights ferries from Chernomorsk to the ports Poti and Batumi (both Georgia).

According to V. Chernyavsky, revised timetable of the ferries will allow to prevent over-accumulation of cars and trucks awaiting shipment in Illichivsk sea port.

Now on the line Chernomorsk — sea ports of Georgia weekly run five or six flights. Involved three passenger ferries «Ukrferry» and two freight ferry of Shipping company «Bulgarian Maritime fleet».

Ministry of Economic Development and Trade with the participation of the Ministry of Infrastructure on August 4, 2016, held a meeting of the working group on export promotion, during which they discussed the routes of delivery of Ukrainian goods in the countries of Central Asia, bypassing the territory of Russia, including the use of international transport corridors.

In Russia, there are restrictions on transit road and rail transportation of goods from Ukraine to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as a total ban on the transit of goods for which the country has a food embargo. 24 June 2016, Kazakhstan recommended to transport from Ukraine to Kazakhstan along the route through Georgia, Azerbaijan, on the Caspian Sea port of Aktau and the route through Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

As previously reported IA «Context-Prichernomorie», after the ban of international transit of Ukrainian cargo through Russia territory to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, has increased the speed of movement of all ferries on the «New Silk Road», added additional flights to Poti and Batumi, accelerated loading / unloading of goods.

To resolve this situation and removal of accumulated cargo, the Ukrainian national carrier «Ukrferry» has increased the flight frequency of its rail, road and ferries. So, the number of flights ferries «Ukrferry» for the first 22 days of August compared with the same period in July rose from 9 to 11, the number of transported TIRs has increased from 546 to 782 units (+ 40% compared to July). According to the schedule, by the end of the next week is scheduled 8 ferry flights «Ukrferry» and 3 flights of the «Bulgarian Maritime fleet». It should be noted that in the first ten days of September to be exported from the port more than 500 wagons.

«At the moment, the ferry docks complex are not fully utilized. Increased ships approaches allow overload loads effectively through Illichevsk seaport. Specially revised schedule allows the passage of ferries smoothly and in a timely manner to send wagons and TIR vehicles in the desired direction, thereby avoiding excessive accumulation on the ferry terminal and port Illichevsk-Ferry station», — said Deputy head of operations, the administration of Illichevsk sea port Vyacheslav Gasun.
