More than 11 kg of cocaine was found on September, 14th by the special survey group as a part of frontier guards and representatives of customs during frontier-customs registration by the steam-ship «Amfitrite I» (flag of Panama) which has arrived to Odessa.

It was noted in the press-service of the State frontier service of Ukraine that under documents the basic cargo on a vessel which followed on a route Bolivar (Ecuador) — Ceuta (Spain) — Odessa, were 4 thousand 627 tons of bananas.

During survey of a vessel the group of frontier guards and customs officers has found out 8 polyethylene packages with substance of white color in gross weight of 11 kg 195 g have been hidden in the top part of an engine room behind a boiler.

The express analysis has shown that the found substance is cocaine.

Investigation group has been created; its membership included representatives of SSU, Office of Public Prosecutor, boundary department, department on struggle against contraband of customs and transport militia.

Now the subsequent general actions for documenting and identification of persons who can be involved in illicit moving of narcotic substance are carried out.
